I feel like every great story has a catalyst, and Chris was definitely mine. I met this this kid at an instameet in early January. But we never really talked again after that. A few weeks later, I had dropped my phone at work and I broke the camera on it. I was bummed to say the least, breaking my phone camera at the time was just about the worst thing that could’ve happened to me. So I had to head to Boston that weekend to fix it, and I did. The first place I went to didn’t have the part in to fix it, so I tried another phone repair shop on Newbury street. I was in luck, they told me it would only take an hour or so. So I headed to the Prudential Center to burn some time and get some lunch. As I was walking through the mall in the Pru I happened to look up and I saw Chris walking towards me. And it’s so strange because I really didn’t know him, and I didn’t even remember him. But for some reason, in that split second of him passing me, I grabbed his arm and I said ‘I know you.’ And he just looked at me confused and sorta laughed, we realized after we had met before at the meet. I told him I was getting my phone fixed and we should go shoot after, and we did. We have been friends ever since, and because we crossed paths that day we’ve had so many good times, so many good laughs, so many ridiculous photo adventures, and so much smart food. We slayed this city this Summer, and we made Boston ours. And I often wonder what this Summer would have been like if I never did grab his arm, and if I had just let him walk past me. And that’s crazy to think about, because I’ve grown so much as a person since I met Chris. And it was funny because I thought breaking my phone was so unlucky, but it turned out to be one of the biggest blessing of my life. And although I will never get this Summer back, and I am gonna miss it like hell when it’s gone, I’m only 21, and that means everything. And this all happened because of a catalyst, and it was as simple as me grabbing someones arm. That was the start of it all, of everything that’s to come, and well, I feel Winston Churchill said it best.

“Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.”
